The UT Government of J&K issued statement yesterday, a week after notification of new land laws. Various political parties including Gupkar Alliance, Panthers party held protest demonstration and labelled the new land laws draconian, Former CM Omar Abdullah condemned the new Land laws by saying that J&K is now on sale.
However, the state Government clarified it own stand on new Land Laws only after The Publish on its online channel interviewed BJP Spokesperson RS Pathania on 1st November. During the interview, he had clarified that only 90% of the total land in J&K is either Forest land and Agriculture land which can't be sold to outsiders. He made it new Land laws have ample protection for the domiciles of J&K and the new land laws shall usher an era of progress and development in J&K.
Only after that, the Government which had given ample space and time to the opposition to spread misinformation on the new land laws decided to address a press conference in which they reiterated the same things and clarified it's stand new Land Laws. Sh. Rohit Kansal clarified during the Press Conference that the old land laws in J&K were obsolete and redundant and have now been replaced with development oriented land laws.
